Boutique San Francisco hotel reserves a spot for Powermat

With fast, reliable Internet access and a collection of complimentary MacBooks and iPads available to guests, the Stanford Court Hotel in San Francisco has always done its best to keep clientele connected. So it’s more than fitting that the boutique hotel has become the world’s first hotel to offer guest Powermat Charging Spots throughout its business center and lobby.

Since Powermat’s mobile engagement platform is connected to the cloud, Stanford Court can use our technology to send customized offers, tailored content and special rewards right to their guest’s smartphones. The first of these mobile ads will be used to promote the hotel’s snacks and bar menu items, offering guests $5 house wine, house cocktail or draft beer between 5pm and midnight

While most San Fran residents are familiar with our technology after Starbucks started its national roll-out of Powermat Charging Spots in the city in 2014, we’re excited that visitors to the Bay Area will now have the opportunity to glimpse the future during their stay. After all, with so much to see and do, who wants to be stuck in their room charging their phone?

There’s the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, shopping in Union Square, sea lions at Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown, cable cars, Giants games, etc. All those tourist destinations equate to a whole lot of selfies, tweets and Instagram posts— all which can quickly drain the battery on one’s smartphone. Now, Stanford Court guests can leave their phone chargers in their rooms, quickly power up in the lobby and recharge at Starbucks as they see the sites.

If you own any number of popular new phones that have been embedded with wireless charging technology, all you have to do to charge your phone is download the Powermat app and lay your device on a designated Charging Spot. If your phone is not wirelessly enabled, simply buy a Ring that fits your phone or borrow one from the front desk.

For those of you not lucky enough to be staying at the Stanford Court, or for that matter, travelling to San Francisco in the near future, you can find your nearest POWERMAT CHARGING SPOT HERE.
