A Weekend to Recharge and Power Up in New York City

NYC, said to be the place where ‘dreams are made’. A vibrant cultural hub known for landmarks such as the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty and the bright lights of Times Square. Admittedly, a weekend doesn’t feel like enough time to explore the beauty of the Big Apple, but sometimes that’s all you get!

Day 1

Shortly after arriving, you decide to head to the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan. Lucky for you, MOMA is open late on Fridays. You are wowed by the exhibitions, the films and the gallery.

Following a long day of travel and a tour through a museum, you decide to walk to the popular tourist destination of Times Square. You then refuel at Starbucks where you wirelessly charge your beloved smartphone prior to your next destination.

After charging up, you’re ready to visit the iconic Radio City Music Hall, which was once the city’s leading tourist destination. Over 700 movies have opened here since 1933, including the original King Kong, To Kill a Mockingbird and The Lion King. Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion and many others have graced the stage here. You choose to take a seat and watch a show.

Day 2

You make your way to the Central Park Zoo, home to polar bears and sea lions. After taking one too many photos on your smartphone, you consider yourself lucky that the closest Powermat station is only a short walk away. You follow that up with lunch at one of New York’s premiere eating spots, the Auden Bistro. You consider taking in a baseball game at Yankee Stadium in the evening, but decide instead to go to a concert at the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden, a venue that’s welcoming Drake, Adele, Radiohead and Billy Joel this summer. Still somehow with energy left, you head to SoHo for a late night snack. After charging your phone at Starbucks, you dine at S.O.B's (Sounds of Brazil), a tasty Brazilian restaurant that’s also a venue for artists on the rise. Everyone from Drake to Kanye West has once graced the stage at S.O.B’s.

Day 3

As you grab your morning latté in Tribeca at Gotan and as you recharge your phone for an eventful day ahead you realize your weekend is coming to a close and this is the last day to have fun in NYC before heading home. Wanting to do something you can’t do anywhere else, you visit the Intrepid, Sea, Air & Space Museum to check out the legendary aircraft carrier Intrepid, the space shuttle Enterprise, the world’s fastest jets and a guided missile submarine.

You then take a trek through Washington Square Park, which features pickup chess game tables and piano players. There is truly entertainment on every corner! Once you’ve finished your stroll through Washington Square Park, you go looking for laughs at the Comedy Cellar where big names such as Aziz Ansari, Chris Rock and Louis C.K. have been known to perform regularly. On your way you quickly charge your phone at the closest charging station.

With so many things to see and do during your glorious weekend, it won’t be long before you want to go back to see what else is happening in New York.
